The focus on trade and investment is underway at Hala China, with the first step being the introduction of Chinese global market leading industries into the UAE such as the electric vehicle value chain. The aim is for Hala China to evolve into being a contributor to the UAE’s economic development through areas such as manufacturing and intellectual property creation. To aid in the first leg of their journey, Hala China engaged with Monstarlab for support in the first leg of their journey, requiring the development of a feasibility study for the trade of electric vehicles and electric vehicle infrastructure in the MENA region
The feasibility study was approved by the client and their investors

Solution

In order to ensure the feasibility of introducing Chinese electric vehicles and electric vehicle infrastructure to the MENA region, Hala China and Monstarlab began by looking at global market trends and consumer preferences which provided the basis to build the business and financial models that defined the feasibility of introducing the products to the market.

An important consideration was the buy-in of Hala China's JV partner Emirates Transport, which will also play a dual role as a launch customer to the market, as well as understanding which business segments to target first, with the government sector being the first due to its known position as a market mover within the MENA region
