The Challenge

KUBOTA provides heavy machinery solutions for construction and agriculture globally. However, when it comes to machinery repair services, the task falls on the local service engineers of varying experience and would often rely on service manuals. Machine downtime is detrimental to client operations as it impacts operational profits.

The Solution

To address this, Monstarlab was tapped by Kubota to develop a 3D model and AR-based failure diagnosis application called KUBOTA Diagnostics. One key feature is a function that combines a 3D model with AR to visually identify target malfunctioning parts inside the machine by holding a smartphone over the equipment. This eliminates the need to actually check the inside of the device, enabling more efficient repairs.
