Riide

A global app enabling seamless contact between taxi drivers and passengers

Putting users first - In an industry characterised by fierce competition and intruding disruptors, the basic needs of both customers and drivers are sometimes forgotten. riide was created by 16 private hire and taxi operators across the UK and Ireland coming together to form an alliance, working together to develop a global app to make the booking of taxis easy, regardless of which city you are in.

Combining scalable tech with intuitive experience- Leveraging state-of-the-art technology, a solid booking system was developed to support seamless contact between drivers and passengers. This was combined with a truly intuitive user experience including credit card payment, transparent driver rating and split fare functionality.

Building for global scale

We were the tech partner for the launch of the Riide platform, from their inception in 2016. The app we developed is now being maintained across four platforms: Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Windows Desktop. It has performed to exacting UK standards since launch, and we have also been able to scale the app to Ireland, USA and Canada with great success. The service has since evolved to support 25,000 cars and 1,000,000 bookings per week.

At Monstarlab, we partner with new businesses to accelerate the launch and scale of complex technologies. With Claro, we provided this support from concept, through discovery, and well into the development phase. Our strategists worked closely with investors and the new management team to evolve the core business proposition whilst our engineers fast-tracked product design and development. We have recently completed our role in the project and have handed over to the internal team, who are now - quite rightly - 100% in charge of its destiny.

Riide has enjoyed a collaborative working practice with Mostarlab and together the two sides have crafted a truly intuitive user experience … their technical ability has been a key factor due to the number of legacy back-end systems which we have required integrating with. Also worthy of note is the supportive and transparent relationship we have.
