An exclusive service for savvy fashionistas to exchange pieces and maximize their closets.

Tulerie launched its peer-to-peer marketplace to help users lend and borrow high-end clothing and accessories. We partnered with their founders to explore this increasingly crowded space, and identified what this category of consumer truly needs from a clothing exchange service. Through market research, service design, and rapid prototyping, we created a breakthrough experience that has garnered praise from major media outlets.

A Market Platform for Sharing at Scale

Our multidisciplinary team worked with Tulerie at every phase of the project – from mapping the service model, to vetting and integrating third-party solutions, defining their e-commerce platform, to designing the chat-based reservation interface.

The Architecture
We delivered a flexible infrastructure that scales by allowing market-specific integrations to easily swap in and out. We built a system that manages to make complex transactions easy for everyone.
We were able to build upon an MVP foundation to evolve the product to better fulfill the user's desire for community and personal connection in addition to elevating their style.

Best-in-class Browsing, e-commerce, and Scheduling

The Tulerie experience had to match the elegance of its listed products. We created an interface and design system that establishes Tulerie as a sophisticated player in the fashion world. The result is an exceptional, scalable product that’s loved by consumers, who have rated it 4.7 out of 5 stars in the Apple App Store.

Connecting a Community

The MVP app proved to be a success as more users applied to be a part of the close community. Tulerie and the Monstarlab team collaborated to evolve the community by adding messaging via Twilio to allow users to bond over more than accessories. Memberships turned into friendships as users began to exchange clothes over coffee instead of through the mail.

Bringing the Brand to Life

Monstarlab led creative workshops to bring the Tulerie brand to life in their logo and app design. We leveraged the iconography of mirrors, closets and recycling to create a unique logo. Our designers worked closely with Tulerie's founders to deliver a design system that reflects their users: approachable but elegant, sophisticated while fun, conscious and chic
