Monstar Lab recently invested in myBOSS.asia Inc. (hereinafter “myBOSS”) , a Filipino start-up engaged in providing back office shared services through technology solutions. The company provides an end-to-end service that ensures accurate, comprehensive and timely financial and administrative management and at the same time provides owners with business analytics and industry insights that will help them make strategic decisions on how to scale up their businesses.

Monstar Lab’s involvement aims to bring in more strategic thinking and cutting-edge technology engineered for awesome solutions that will perform. Thus, in order to further provide MSMEs and startups the opportunity to discover and develop creative and disruptive strategies for their enterprises, the partnership with myBOSS will set up a startup studio which aims to provide an ecosystem for its community of entrepreneurs. This lab, which will be launched this October 2019 and called Monstar Hub Philippines, will allow these MSMEs to adopt technology solutions to their business model by incorporating the use of artificial intelligence, robotics, digital marketing, research center and financial systems using business analytics.
By combining Monstar Lab’s global expertise and myBOSS local business acumen, the startup studio, which will be housed in SM Cyber Makati Two, will be a working space for entrepreneurs seeking for technology advancement and innovation. This is the second Monstar Hub that will be set-up after the first being located in Bangkok, Thailand.
Monstar Lab CEO Hiroki Inagawa saw the alignment of a partnership with myBOSS.asia to its objective of providing seamless digital strategy, design and development services for the region’s growing demands. Through its extensive network of local offices and group companies, the partnership with myBOSS.asia aims to bring proven technologies to MSMEs in the Philippines and propel them to the global market.
The Philippines is fast becoming an entrepreneurial country. In spite of its education system which is structured more to producing employees, working professionals and overseas workers, the past years saw the emergence of start-ups and micro and small enterprises. In fact, as per statistics from the department of Trade and Industry, 99.6% of enterprises are micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It has been observed, however, that majority of these MSMEs remain micro and small and only a small percentage actually scale up or move to even become global companies.
