<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>Following the success of "TAG-COFFEE STAN(D)," a bottle coffee stand launched in 2021 that allowed users to freely customize taste and packaging, Suntory Beverage &amp; Food International considered developing "TAG LIVE! LABEL" as a service that would narrow down the drink options and make it easier to try a customized label solution.</p><p>While "TAG-COFFEE STAN(D)" utilized a system where users placed orders online in advance, "TAG LIVE! LABEL" required labels to be created and issued on the spot at the store. Therefore, it was necessary to design a UI that considered the ease of use for store staff, from label design creation and customization to printer integration.</p><p>Furthermore, given the need for a speedy launch, Monstarlab was once again selected as a partner, highly valued for their previous track record of taking "TAG-COFFEE STAN(D)" from ideation to product realization.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>For the launch of "TAG LIVE! LABEL," Monstarlab first started with screen design. They designed the app screens used by stores, the screens visible to users, and the management screens used by both implementing companies and the head office, taking into account the specific operational requirements for each. Throughout the production process, they worked closely with the client, making immediate refinements. This resulted in a service where store staff could easily create and issue labels without undergoing difficult training, along with a management screen designed with operational aspects in mind. Furthermore, for the screens viewed by users, they focused on the layout and color adjustments to create an atmosphere of "special memories unique to that day and that place."</p><p>For development, a dedicated team utilizing both the Japan and Da Nang, Vietnam offices was formed to advance the project with an agile development approach. By having the Vietnam team promptly implement the requests gathered by the Japan team, they were able to meet the client's needs quickly and with high accuracy.</p><p>As a result of these efforts, the service achieved its launch in a short period of just six months.</p>

<h2>Results:</h2><p>"TAG LIVE! LABEL" was first introduced at namco TOKYO/ ONE PIECE Card Game Official Shop and 109 Cinemas Premium Shinjuku in conjunction with the opening of Tokyu Kabukicho Tower on April 14, 2023. Since then, the number of participating stores has steadily increased, reaching 200 stores by December 2024, with further expansion planned.</p><p>Furthermore, in March 2024, "SNAP DRINK" was launched as a spin-off service from "TAG LIVE! LABEL," allowing users to sell drinks with original labels featuring their own memorable photos on the spot, further broadening the user base.</p><p>Monstarlab has received high praise from the client for rapid improvements and operational stability. Currently, we continue to provide a scalable development structure utilizing both our Japan and Vietnam offices, offering ongoing support for bug fixes, operation and maintenance, as well as feature additions.</p>

TAG LIVE! LABEL / SNAP DRINK: Customized Label Solutions

A Seamless Design and Development Pipeline Between Japan and Vietnam, Supporting Your Service's Launch and Growth Journey

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>The introduction of self-checkout registers in retail stores has significantly contributed to enhancing customer experience and streamlining operations. However, when purchasing age-restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco, staff intervention remains essential, which is the biggest obstacle to a smooth self-checkout experience.</p><p>In fact, age verification tasks account for 70% of self-checkout procedures, and the increased burden of these checks has led to higher store operating costs.</p><p>Furthermore, the dialogue and waiting times associated with age verification have resulted in decreased customer satisfaction and lost shopping opportunities. Additionally, existing age verification systems posed challenges regarding offline usability and privacy protection.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>To solve this challenge, Monstarlab and Fujitsu's UK branch collaborated to develop an age verification system as an SDK (*), which can be integrated into retailers' apps and kiosk software.</p><p>This SDK utilizes cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning, facial recognition, and photo matching to provide an ethical and consistent customer experience, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. It visually assesses the customer's age and, in cases where a reliable determination cannot be made, performs identity verification using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology for ID checks or high-resolution photos extracted from passport chips.</p><p>Furthermore, recognizing that internet connectivity can be an issue in many retail locations, the SDK was designed to operate not only online but also offline, with processing completed directly on the device. To respect user privacy, the system is designed in compliance with GDPR regulations, ensuring that personal data is never transmitted or stored outside the user's device.</p><p>*SDK: A Software Development Kit, a set of tools and components necessary for websites and applications.</p>

<h2>Results:</h2><p>The developed SDK, compatible with both iOS and Android, can be easily implemented into existing apps and POS systems and has been adopted by many self-checkout registers.</p><p>By automating the age verification process at self-checkouts, the burden on staff has been significantly reduced. It provides a smooth age verification experience, contributing to improved customer satisfaction and reduced store operating costs.</p><p>Furthermore, its strong privacy protection features have earned customer trust, and it has enabled the delivery of a consistent customer experience regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity.</p>

Facial Recognition-Powered Age Verification SDK for Self-Checkout

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>Danske Bank's existing website had not been adequately optimized for viewing on mobile devices, creating an urgent need to address mobile site requirements. Furthermore, the information architecture, designed primarily to promote the bank's financial products, did not fully capture customer needs. Operationally, the process of publishing content was time-consuming, as each page required design and development, hindering the ability to provide information quickly.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>To address these challenges, Monstarlab designed content based on user research, focusing on customer needs and life events. By adopting a mobile-first approach, they achieved an optimal customer experience tailored to each individual across all devices.</p><p>Furthermore, they implemented Sitecore, a content management system (CMS). Utilizing its personalization engine, they enabled the delivery of information customized to each customer. Additionally, they implemented the Sitecore Experience Platform to enhance security.</p>

<h2>Results:</h2><p>As a result of these efforts, customer satisfaction ratings for the website improved, with 90% of visitors providing positive feedback.</p><p>Furthermore, the newly added personalized content accurately addressed customer needs, garnering significant attention with 69% of visitors viewing it. In terms of site operations, the implementation of the CMS empowered editors to freely create and optimize pages and content, enabling the rapid provision of information.</p><p>Moreover, this achievement has been highly recognized as a successful application of Sitecore, receiving two Sitecore Experience Awards: "Sitecore implementation for Content Management Strategy in Scandinavia" (2016) and "the Best Business Impact or ROI from a Digital Experience" (2019).</p>

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>Tempur Sealy's TEMPUR® products are sold in stores around the world, often displayed alongside those of competing manufacturers. Understanding that approximately 70% of customers purchase products recommended by sales staff in-store, Tempur Sealy recognized the need to ensure their staff had a strong understanding of the products and were highly motivated to sell them.</p><p>However, traditional in-person training was costly and time-consuming, and follow-up communication presented numerous challenges. Furthermore, for a global company like Tempur Sealy, providing uniform training to staff at all retail locations worldwide was difficult. To address these issues, Tempur Sealy partnered with Monstarlab to introduce a digital solution for training their product sales staff.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>Monstarlab proposed the development of an e-learning application for training purposes. By delivering unified training through the application to staff at all retail locations worldwide, the goal was to reduce costs associated with training and communication, implement various features to enhance brand understanding, and ultimately improve customer engagement through high-quality customer service leveraging the advanced knowledge gained.</p><p>The proposal was successfully adopted, and Monstarlab took end-to-end responsibility for the project, from strategy formulation to development and testing. In addition to a notification function for quickly disseminating information on new products and campaigns, features centered around gamification were implemented to foster brand understanding and affinity among retail staff through personal statistics, rankings, quizzes, and trivia. Furthermore, to accommodate global deployment, the implementation of localization features tailored to each country's KPIs and staff levels was also achieved.</p>

<p><br></p><h2>Results:</h2><p>With the introduction of the e-learning application, Tempur Sealy's training was digitized, significantly optimizing the training and communication processes for product sales staff.</p><p>The app has been continuously and actively utilized by sales staff, with an average daily usage time of 13 minutes, a retention rate of 93%, and 60,000 page views per month, contributing to employees' understanding of the brand and products.</p><p>Furthermore, the app has enabled the collection of sales promotion activity data, making it easier to monitor and improve sales performance.</p>

THE SLEEP ACADEMY: A Gamified E-Learning Application

Driving Sales Engagement and Brand Understanding via Digitalized Education

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>The insurance industry, with its historically conservative nature, is one sector that has lagged behind the digital transformation trends embraced by many industries over the past few decades. In particular, challenges such as cost reduction and business process optimization, which are relatively easier to address, still persist, making it increasingly difficult to maintain competitiveness compared to other industries.</p><p>Despite these industry-specific circumstances, HanseMerkur has been an early adopter of digital transformation within the traditional insurance landscape, having introduced a bill photo and scanning app as early as 2011. However, in recent years, there has been a growing demand for even stronger proactive customer engagement aimed at improving customer satisfaction, further increasing the necessity for digital transformation.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>Monstarlab designed the concept for a new healthcare application aimed at enhancing customer engagement. The proposal focused on leveraging digital technologies to optimize call center costs and improve services through data utilization.</p><p>With improving user experience as a top priority, Monstarlab designed a modern and sophisticated UI for new customer engagement. This application also considered complete integration with existing IT infrastructure and customer service processes, ensuring seamless integration with HanseMerkur's current business.</p><p>Furthermore, Monstarlab promoted integration with optimal third-party solutions, including the IT department, customer service center, healthcare service information, and key IT service providers. In addition, by leveraging innovative technologies such as AI and machine learning, the concept for an application optimal for both HanseMerkur's operations and its customers was finalized.</p>

<p><br></p><h2>Results:</h2><p>Monstarlab was highly praised for its support in planning a roadmap that considered feasibility, including designing a plan for the rapid development of an MVP alongside the planning of the new application concept.</p><p>Furthermore, a survey conducted with 1,000 customers regarding the new concept yielded an unprecedentedly high score of 8 out of 10, demonstrating the potential for strong customer engagement.</p>

Exploring the digital platforms of Kerzner International, including those for "Atlantis" and "One&Only"

Digital Transformation and Fostering Active Customer Engagement for Insurance Companies

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>Kerzner, owner of world-leading luxury resort brands, places great importance on providing an excellent customer experience in all aspects. This includes not only the on-site experience at their properties but also the online experience, which is often the initial touchpoint for many customers. To deliver the best personalized digital experience, they planned to revamp their websites.</p><p>For this revamp, a decision was made to implement Sitecore, a Web CMS with integrated marketing functionalities, to efficiently leverage components and data held by each of their globally operating brands. Monstarlab, as an official partner, was selected for this implementation.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>To build a reliable platform for Kerzner's long-term business growth, Monstarlab spearheaded a system reconstruction utilizing Sitecore 9.3 and Sitecore Managed Cloud. Simultaneously, UI design updates were also implemented.</p><p>By adopting a highly scalable platform architecture, it became easy to add new resort facilities and related integrated booking services. Furthermore, custom-tailored CMS functionalities for Kerzner significantly reduced the time it takes for editors and marketing staff to publish content. The implementation of action triggers and an advanced tracking system also enabled personalization based on customer attributes and supported marketing activities such as A/B testing.</p>

<p><br></p><h2>Results:</h2><p>Following the project's successful launch, member booking rates achieved a 62% improvement. Additionally, member registration rates increased by 13% through registration form optimization, and test pages saw an 83% improvement in overall booking rates. The platform now enables a seamless process from data collection to improvement planning, implementation, and performance analysis, providing a solid foundation for Kerzner's continued growth.</p><p>Furthermore, Kerzner's adoption of Sitecore Managed Cloud was highly regarded by Sitecore as the first implementation in the MENA region, earning Monstarlab high praise as an official partner.</p>

A Luxury Resort to Transform its Digital Presence into an Exceptional Experience

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>As the largest economy in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia was aiming to enhance competition in its telecommunications market by issuing new MVNO licenses.</p><p>Against this backdrop, RBM identified Saudi Arabia as one of its strategic markets for expansion and sought a partner with extensive knowledge of the Middle Eastern market and strong technological capabilities. Monstarlab's track record of successful projects in the Middle East led to its selection as RBM's consulting partner for their entry into the Saudi Arabian market.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>Monstarlab provided support spanning from the license bidding process to the business launch, contributing to the successful establishment of RBM in the new market.</p><p>During the license bidding phase, which involved partnering with local telecommunications operators, Monstarlab offered extensive support in areas such as building relationships with investors, drafting the bid proposal, conducting financial analysis, and formulating the market entry strategy. This comprehensive assistance helped RBM secure the license, outcompeting other bidders.</p><p>In the subsequent full-scale business launch phase, Monstarlab assisted in strategizing the core aspects of the business, including marketing, sales, distribution, and customer service, providing crucial support for RBM's success in the Saudi Arabian market.</p>

The "different than usual" concept resonated with people, leading to the acquisition of hundreds of thousands of users within one year.</p><p>Monstarlab has continued its support post-launch, acting as a liaison with the newly established local RBM organization and providing strategic support in developing commercial strategies, sales, marketing, distribution, and customer service.</p>

Red Bull MOBILE: A Mobile Service Powered by Red Bull

A Mobile Communication Business to Launch in the Saudi Arabian Market

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>"Secure SAMBA," the online storage service provided by kubell Storage, had its development, operation, and maintenance previously outsourced to external vendors. This resulted in a lack of internal knowledge accumulation, partly due to multiple vendor changes, leading to a black-box system. Furthermore, accurate KPI acquisition for the product had not been achieved, making it difficult to understand feature usage and user types, which hindered decision-making regarding necessary feature improvements for sales growth.</p><p>Amidst this, Minagine Co., Ltd., a client of Monstarlab, joined the kubell Group (formerly Chatwork Group). Minagine Co., Ltd. had previously collaborated with Monstarlab, adopting offshore development in Vietnam with positive results. Consequently, kubell Storage also decided to leverage Monstarlab's offshore capabilities.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>Monstarlab, at its Da Nang, Vietnam office, flexibly adjusted and promoted engineers in different technical domains according to the service development plan. Utilizing a lab-style development approach centered around members with a deep understanding of the product and development processes, they achieved the resource agility unique to an overseas location.</p><p>Initially, they prioritized addressing Windows app and backend feature modifications and bug fixes to ensure stable product operation. Subsequently, by organizing existing test items and automating testing, they contributed to improving development quality and shortening the release cycle. Furthermore, they supported the visualization of log data in the online environment, establishing a framework for future feature expansion.</p><p>Moreover, by documenting the knowledge acquired and analyzed throughout the development process on Notion, they supported the establishment of a system for knowledge accumulation within kubell Storage while minimizing the translation burden across multiple languages.</p>

<p><br></p><h2>Results:</h2><p>As a result of adopting the lab-style development with an overseas team provided by Monstarlab, kubell Storage became capable of responding to rapid modifications and improvements, enabling their representatives to take proactive steps aimed at increasing sales. This resulted in a doubling of sales and a 1.4-fold increase in the number of contracts. Product utilization also increased several tenfold, achieving remarkable growth.</p><p>Furthermore, by resolving the black-box issue and visualizing user and service usage, they have now completed the implementation of a data foundation, enabling them to formulate new data-driven strategies for future business growth.</p><p>Moving forward, kubell Storage is proceeding with considerations for further evolution, and Monstarlab will continue to work closely with the client, supporting their business growth.</p>

Secure SAMBA: A Secure Online File Storage Service

A Dedicated Development Lab with Global Resources to Scale Your Service

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>Wingstop faced the challenge of long lines forming at their stores due to their popularity. To enhance the customer experience, they sought ways to streamline the process from order placement to pickup and decided to implement a "self-service pickup system" where customers could independently complete the ordering, payment, and pickup of their food.</p><p>This system allows customers to order and pay online via their smartphones or at in-store touchscreen kiosk terminals. The order details are then transmitted to the kitchen through the POS system to initiate cooking. Once the order is ready, it is stored in a heated locker, and customers receive a notification to retrieve their food from the designated locker.</p><p>Realizing this new system required support utilizing various technologies, including UX/UI design, mobile app development, and backend system development, Wingstop sought a capable partner.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>Wingstop and Monstarlab formed a joint team to handle the key phases of the project.</p><p>In the initial stages, a two-week sprint was conducted to deepen the understanding of Wingstop's vision and to create prototypes for verifying technical feasibility. Following this, the team worked on designing the full-fledged customer experience and building the design, in parallel with backend development and system integration.</p><p>To realize a system that intricately combined multiple IoT devices, the project prioritized achieving a seamless customer experience by steadily addressing detailed operational requirements. This included ensuring an excellent experience at the kiosk terminals, integrating payment solutions linked with the POS system, and generating authentication codes for order retrieval from the lockers.</p>

<p><br></p><h2>Results:</h2><p>The new self-service system was successfully implemented in stores, significantly updating Wingstop's customer experience through reduced wait times and improved order accuracy.</p><p>Customers can now order and pick up their food at their convenience without queuing, leading to increased customer satisfaction. Simultaneously, staff can focus on cooking and customer service without being overwhelmed by order taking and payment processing.</p>
