<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>The insurance industry, with its historically conservative nature, is one sector that has lagged behind the digital transformation trends embraced by many industries over the past few decades. In particular, challenges such as cost reduction and business process optimization, which are relatively easier to address, still persist, making it increasingly difficult to maintain competitiveness compared to other industries.</p><p>Despite these industry-specific circumstances, HanseMerkur has been an early adopter of digital transformation within the traditional insurance landscape, having introduced a bill photo and scanning app as early as 2011. However, in recent years, there has been a growing demand for even stronger proactive customer engagement aimed at improving customer satisfaction, further increasing the necessity for digital transformation.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>Monstarlab designed the concept for a new healthcare application aimed at enhancing customer engagement. The proposal focused on leveraging digital technologies to optimize call center costs and improve services through data utilization.</p><p>With improving user experience as a top priority, Monstarlab designed a modern and sophisticated UI for new customer engagement. This application also considered complete integration with existing IT infrastructure and customer service processes, ensuring seamless integration with HanseMerkur's current business.</p><p>Furthermore, Monstarlab promoted integration with optimal third-party solutions, including the IT department, customer service center, healthcare service information, and key IT service providers. In addition, by leveraging innovative technologies such as AI and machine learning, the concept for an application optimal for both HanseMerkur's operations and its customers was finalized.</p>

<p><br></p><h2>Results:</h2><p>Monstarlab was highly praised for its support in planning a roadmap that considered feasibility, including designing a plan for the rapid development of an MVP alongside the planning of the new application concept.</p><p>Furthermore, a survey conducted with 1,000 customers regarding the new concept yielded an unprecedentedly high score of 8 out of 10, demonstrating the potential for strong customer engagement.</p>

Digital Transformation and Fostering Active Customer Engagement for Insurance Companies

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>JTB leverages its nationwide network to support the resolution of regional and tourism operator challenges by creating diverse flows of people, goods, and commerce, thereby expanding the exchange population. Trip.com Group boasts overwhelming sales power in Asia, connecting customers worldwide with local travel business partners through cutting-edge transaction platforms such as mobile apps, websites, and customer support, to offer convenient and affordable bookings. JIT was established as a joint venture between these two companies.</p><p>As a newly established company, JIT was seeking a partner to launch its corporate website quickly in order to rapidly increase brand awareness and attract customers.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>Monstarlab was entrusted with the UI design and development of JIT's corporate website.</p><p>Given the requirements for the release deadline and cost, the project began by using a trade-off slider to visualize QCDS (Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Security) priorities, establishing a shared understanding with JIT before proceeding.</p><p>Initially, based on the provided information such as the company's mission, vision, and values, the project focused on understanding JIT's business operations and organizing key selling points. The finalized information was then translated into wireframes, visualizing JIT's desired requirements for the corporate website.</p><p>During the build phase, Monstarlab's Cebu office handled both the design and development. WordPress was chosen as the CMS, considering JIT's operational needs after launch. For the hosting service, Kinsta, which specializes in managed WordPress hosting known for its maintainability and security, was selected. This approach balanced the project's cost and speed with the importance of post-release operation, maintenance, and security.</p>

<p><br></p><h2>Results:</h2><p>By carefully selecting requirements, establishing a development structure leveraging overseas offices, and effectively utilizing the CMS and external services, the initial release was achieved in just about two months from the project's start.</p><p>The launched corporate website is contributing to enhancing the new company's presence and branding, and is being utilized in marketing and sales activities.</p><p>Currently, Monstarlab continues to work closely with the client, supporting business growth from a broad perspective, including adding various content features to the website and assisting in the creation of new services.</p>

JTB Inbound Trip Corporate Website

UI design and development for building their corporate website, helping to generate business opportunities in Japan's inbound tourism market

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>At Mandai Wildlife Group, approximately 450 zookeepers work across all facilities, with each responsible for multiple animals, handling tasks such as feeding, health checks, training, and shows. Consequently, tasks like recording animal management information and placing feed orders involved a workflow where notes were initially taken by hand in the field and later entered into the recording system in the office, resulting in a lack of timely information sharing. Furthermore, multiple types of recording systems existed, requiring users to switch between them depending on the data being entered.</p><p>In this situation, opportunities for information exchange between zookeepers in the office were often missed. Communication among zookeepers relied on personal chat applications in addition to the aforementioned systems, leading to significant challenges in terms of the extra effort required to transcribe information and the overall communication overhead.</p><p>To address these issues, the implementation of a business application was considered, and Monstarlab was selected as the partner for this project.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>To begin, Monstarlab focused on understanding and analyzing the current workflows at each facility. In the initial stages of the project, this involved visiting the zoo and other facilities multiple times to observe zookeepers' tasks.</p><p>Based on this analysis, seven functions were proposed.</p><p>These included a "Morning Meeting Checklist Function" for reviewing daily tasks, "Feeding Record Function" and "Calendar Function" for tracking animal care activities, and an "Internal SNS Function" to enable seamless communication among employees. The proposed application aimed to comprehensively address the various challenges faced by zookeepers.</p><p>Furthermore, the screen design was meticulously crafted with ease of use in mind, considering scenarios where zookeepers would enter information on-site. This included making buttons larger to facilitate on-the-spot input during their work.</p>

<p><br></p><h2>Results:</h2><p>The application was built in approximately four months and its use began.</p><p>Tasks that previously required switching between different recording systems depending on the work being done, or changing clothes to enter information in the office, can now be easily performed from a smartphone, from anywhere, resulting in a significant improvement in operational efficiency. Furthermore, the newly implemented internal SNS has facilitated more active interaction and information exchange among zookeepers, addressing the communication challenges they faced.</p><p>It is reported that the quality of care provided to the animals has also improved as a result of the increased efficiency brought about by the application.</p><p>By partnering with Mandai Wildlife Group and providing solutions that leverage technology, Monstarlab was able to create significant value that benefits not only zookeepers but also the animals themselves.</p>

<h2>Challenges:</h2><p>As customer touchpoints shift towards digital channels with the changing times, the "Hirogin App" also faced increasing demands for more flexible and rapid updates. However, The Hiroshima Bank, Ltd. had primarily outsourced modifications and development to external vendors, leading to challenges in responding agilely to customer requests.</p><p>Therefore, The Hiroshima Bank, Ltd. decided to shift towards in-house development with the aim of strengthening its internal development structure. To achieve this, they sought a strong partner with extensive skills and experience.</p><p><br></p><h2>Solutions:</h2><p>Monstarlab assigned members with extensive experience in finance, design, and development to the in-house team formed by young members of The Hiroshima Bank, Ltd. At the beginning of the project, they provided lectures on the fundamentals of UX/UI design and development.</p><p>From the middle of the project, they worked together to create additional features, progressing through user experience design and screen design using user story maps and other tools.</p><p>Particularly in this project, since the goal was to add a mini-app to the existing Hirogin App, they proceeded with development while giving extra consideration to design and operability to ensure a sense of unity within the app.</p>
