SDG Projects and Achievements
The Monstarlab Group is involved in the following projects and initiatives
Palestine-Gaza Strip SDGs Project (2018-)
In 2018, Monstarlab Group"s project, "Software Development for Economic Independence through Employment and Human Resource Development of Refugees, etc. (SDGs Business) Business Survey," was selected for a public offering by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). This project aims to achieve economic independence by engaging in IT product development for Japan and the Middle East, through the employment and training of software development personnel targeting Syrian refugees in Jordan and young people in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian Territories.
In March 2022, the pilot project reached its final stage, and an engineering team was formed in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian Territories, with partner organizations to begin operations. Human resource development and management will be conducted by employees at the Bangladesh office, and work will be distributed mainly to projects in Japan, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia.
Prior to this, in November 2021, the Monstarlab Group established a new base in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to expand its business in the Middle East.
Bangladesh Street Children Support (2018-)
The Ekmatra Academy, supported by Monstarlab, was opened in Bangladesh in 2018 by Ekmatra, an NGO engaged in supporting street children.
The academy is a boarding leadership development center that provides classes in computer skills, practical English, video technology, creative design, and other subjects to street children in Dhaka and children and young people living in rural areas. Monstarlab leverages its technical expertise to support the academy's operations through programming classes and other activities.
Ukraine Refugee Support (2022-)
As a global company that respects diversity, the Monstarlab Group believes it is our responsibility to explore ways to provide humanitarian and non-military support to Ukraine.
As a first step in February 2022, we evacuated our employees from dangerous areas to regions as far away as possible, and evacuated several people abroad. In addition, we supported the preparation of necessary documents to evacuate employees of our partner Ukrainian companies, and our offices in neighboring countries opened up workspaces to refugees in need.
Furthermore, in Poland and the Czech Republic, we are working to hire refugees from Ukraine (up to 30 engineers for regular employment), and we are providing as much support as possible to all Monstarlab employees and their families who require assistance, such as having members in neighboring countries deliver necessities to the border."
