Monstarlab Group CEO appointed as Advisor of Digital Transformation to Izumo, Japan

Tokyo, Japan – August 18, 2021 — Monstarlab, which leverages its talent across 16 countries and 27 cities worldwide, announces that group CEO Hiroki Inagawa has been appointed as a digital transformation advisor to Izumo City, Hiroki Inagawa’s hometown, as of 6 August. With the appointment, Izumo City, which has committed itself to promote sustainable urban development, can leverage the CEO’s expertise and desire to contribute to local communities’ development and take a digital-first approach to public services, urban development, and industry and tourism.

Background and purpose of this appointment

Izumo City in Shimane Prefecture, Japan, has a strong focus on local social issues such as the declining population, low birthrate, and aging population, to improve the environment for a safe and secure life, and to realize a smart city suitable for the Society 5.0 era. In order to achieve this, the city has declared that in 2020 it will promote the creation of sustainable cities by taking a digital-first approach to public services such as civic services, urban development, and industry and tourism, making the most of the power of advanced technologies including Artificial intelligence and Information and Communication Technology. Hiroki was appointed as an advisor for the promotion of digital transformation initiatives, including the digitisation of administrative procedures and the smart city concept.

Main responsibilities as a digital transformation advisor include

  1. Formulation of a draft roadmap for the promotion of digital-first in Izumo City
  2. Support for laying the foundations for a public-private partnership organisation
  3. Support for the operation of a city department, Digital First Promotion
