<p>CAFU started as an innovative app-based technology and has evolved to smartly connect the community to a wide network of maintenance and service partners, becoming the app of choice for all vehicle services, with a vision to use the collective power of intelligence to create a better world through connected mobility. Monstarlab was initially tapped to strengthen the customer experience of their corporate website. In order to achieve this rapid expansion, CAFU invested in its core technology by partnering with Monstarlab to pave the way for scale. The key focus of this investment was to be made on the rapid testing and launching of new features, driven by upgrading to an enterprise-grade architecture that allowed multiple work streams to be delivered in parallel. The ensuing results earned the client's confidence and were further commissioned with the development of a pilot dashboard. The dashboard aimed to reduce manual operations via automation, visualise data, and drive higher pilot performance. This phase of the engagement was apprised by the outcome of an experience and product discovery workshop conducted to help Monstarlab fully understand the CAFU's vision and goals. The partnership ultimately led to a more comprehensive design and development engagement as CAFU opted to maximise the expertise of Monstarlab and get much-needed support for their extensive digital transformation.</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Strengthening Tech Capability to Sustain Scalability</li></ul>

<h3><br></h3><h3><strong>About CAFU</strong></h3><p>CAFU is the Middle East's first on-demand car service platform. It is an on-demand fuel delivery service that fills its customer's vehicles with petrol while at home, work, or play and offers a suite of services, including car washes, engine oil maintenance, battery recharging, and on-demand tyre changes. CAFU provides its users with a genuine one-stop shop to ensure customers have all the at-home services they require. CAFU has been pioneering technology and transportation to create a new mobility infrastructure and challenge 130 years of conventional thinking.</p>

A leading fuel delivery and vehicle services platform wanted to invest in its core technology to pave the way for scale. The key focus of this investment was to be made on the rapid testing and launching of new features, driven by upgrading to an enterprise-grade architecture that allowed multiple work streams to be delivered in parallel.

Enabling Scale Through Digital Architecture Transformation

<p>Careem, the market leading ride-hailing service in the Middle East, tasked Monstarlab to accelerate the launch of their customer facing app and backend infrastructure behind an entirely new digital product line based on restaurant food delivery. Careem NOW was a highly strategic new business line during the subsequent $3.1bn acquisition by Uber, and Monstarlab was able to reduce time to market from 18 to just 4 months. Careem NOW launched in November 2018 and has been thriving since.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Launching a Delivery App To Beat Market-Leading Competitors</strong></h3><p>Careem wanted to add the capability to provide delivery services for a range of products as an extension to their ride-hailing service. Careem NOW was initially positioned as a competitor to Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Zomato who were already well-established in the market. Careem faced fierce competition to gain the market share that would see them dominate across the Middle East and North Africa. It was expected that the delivery market in the region would grow to around $25 billion by 2022. Not only did the solution have to compete with established competitors, Careem NOW had to seamlessly integrate and mimic the quality and reliability expected of the existing portfolio of Careem services including ride-hailing, digital payment and loyalty programme.</p><p><br></p><h3><strong>GPS-Tracking and Mapping</strong></h3><p>Built-in mapping capabilities enables users to track the order from preparation to delivery, in real time.</p><p><br></p><h3><strong>Single Sign-Up for Existing Careem Users</strong></h3><p>Customers will be able to log in with their Careem credentials, and their registered credit card will be automatically linked.</p><p><br></p><h3><strong>Easy Payment</strong></h3><p>Integrated with Careem’s existing payment solution, users can checkout easily.</p><p><br></p><ul><li>1 million orders in less than 12 months.</li><li>Millions of $’s generated as an additional revenue stream.</li><li>Live in multiple markets including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Egypt.</li><li>Modern architecture allowing for scalable performance and industry-leading AB testing strategy for new features and product lines.</li></ul>

<h3><br></h3><h3><strong>About Careem</strong></h3><p>Careem operates in 14 countries and 100+ cities, mostly in the Middle East. They have approximately 33 million customers and 1.2 million ‘Captains’ In 2019, Uber acquired Careem for ＄3.1 billion, the region’s largest tech buyout in history. Careem has recently diversified from its ride-hailing roots to provide delivery services, bike sharing, electric scooters and digital payments. Over the coming years, they are expected to launch the region’s first Super App similar to WeChat and Grab.</p><p><br></p><h3><strong>The Good Stuff</strong></h3><h4>Strong partnership established with future developments</h4><p>In addition to the customer-facing portion of the solution, Monstarlab also partnered with Careem to revamp their Merchant platform. Starting in October 2018, the integrated team worked on building the entire front-end for the merchants, customer service agents, account managers and admins for the Careem NOW platform.</p>

Robust Food Delivery App Fulfills 1M Orders Within a Year of Launch

<p>Red Bull MOBILE (RBM), a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), re-imagines the traditional mobile service offerings by creating an ecosystem where the users become a part of the wider Red Bull community. RBM builds a value proposition around people who value active lifestyle and connectivity, mastering the customer experience by providing access to exclusive events and a wide range of partnership offers to its network users. The company is actively pursuing a growth strategy and identified Saudi Arabia as one of the key strategic markets to enter. Monstarlab’s in-depth experience in the region and telecommunications ensured that we were able to support RBM’s ambitions in establishing the MVNO in the Kingdom.</p><p><br></p><h3><strong>Solution</strong></h3><p>Together we embarked on an exciting 18-months journey from idea up to delivering the brand to the market with the launch of operations. The project included two distinct phases: Negotiated a collaboration agreement with an incumbent MNO, established an investor group and created a comprehensive bid book for RBM to bid for an MVNO license; outlining the value proposition, business and operating models, financial analysis, and go-to-market strategy Leveraged our experienced team to launch the first MVNO operator in KSA combining internal and external resources.
