S.RIDE: A Taxi Hailing Service
Challenges
In operating the service, there was a need to implement various additional functions, requiring constant and flexible responses. For example, in obtaining approval for taxi pre-determined fares from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Automobile Transport Bureau, it was urgent to respond to the pre-determined fare service from October 28, 2019. Pre-determined fares are a new system that allows users to enter their planned boarding location and destination before boarding a taxi, automatically calculate the fare based on the travel distance on the map, and confirm the fare in advance.
Solutions
At Monstarlab, we formed a team that could respond flexibly to Minna no Taxi's situation, including a lead engineer, and provided continuous support. In responding to the pre-determined fare service, we formed a hybrid team structure with the client's internal development team and jointly proceeded with architectural modification proposals towards a common goal. By choosing a method to extend and optimize the existing architecture, we shortened the delivery time and contributed to releasing the service without delay.
Results
As a next-generation taxi dispatch service, by providing a simple, smart, and speedy ride experience true to the name "S.RIDE," the number of service users has steadily increased. S.RIDE is pursuing better mobility services while deepening collaboration with partner companies that have strengths in various business areas. They continue to work on services that always provide new user experiences. Monstarlab will continue to provide support for the continuous growth of the service, including the implementation of new features.
