Creating the "JTB Travel Search & Booking Confirmation App" to boost traveler convenience, streamline in-store processes, and facilitate DX

Challenges:

JTB's focus was on enhancing customer convenience through digitalization. They were considering the development of services that would seamlessly support customers from the initial search phase all the way through their trip.

Furthermore, as integration with their existing core systems was essential, they needed a partner capable of agile development, which allows for flexible specification changes and feature additions, and possessed extensive knowledge in app development.

Solutions:

Monstarlab validated the implementation methods for the app's required functionalities and participated in the requirements definition process, involving all stakeholders including the product owner.

This revealed that, in addition to search and booking confirmation, there was a need for features such as simplified login with security measures, a communication function with physical stores, and a point management system.

For development, Flutter, a cross-platform framework compatible with both iOS and Android, was adopted. Monstarlab proposed agile development, which easily accommodates specification changes, and has been iteratively conducting maintenance and improvement activities in two-week sprints.
