Japan Post started providing the 'e-Shipping Service' for sellers on flea market apps and auction sites in June 2017.
Subsequently, due to the rapid penetration of digitalization and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the e-commerce market expanded. In response to the increasing demand for shipping associated with product returns and rental item collections, they were considering expanding the existing service framework to offer a new service that simplifies the return and return shipping procedures performed by consumers themselves.
Monstarlab began building a return reception website that could smoothly integrate with the systems and services owned by Japan Post. Considering integration with multiple e-commerce sites, we conducted development using a highly versatile cloud environment.
From a usability perspective, we implemented a simple and user-friendly UI design on the site. We designed the UX to ensure a smooth flow, from the user displaying a QR code on their smartphone or other device to issuing a shipping label at the post office or convenience store.
For the development methodology, we proposed agile development to shorten the time to service launch. This enabled us to achieve a launch in line with the business roadmap.
Following the service launch, it began being utilized by the major fashion e-commerce site \"ZOZOTOWN,\" garnering attention and being featured in various media outlets.
Plans are in place to expand to other e-commerce sites sequentially, and Monstarlab continues to provide support for further service enhancement.
