Challenge

e-Boks originated as a mobile solution to meet the user need of reading digital mail on the go. The mails handled range from salary and insurance information to birth certificates, among others. As a tool to centrally manage important emails sent from various sources, e-Boks garnered great expectations. However, due to the expansion of service areas and growing popularity, changes arose in customer needs and the UI design required for the app, necessitating a new app approach.

Solution

Entrusted with the development of the iOS and Android apps, Nodes (now Monstarlab) completely rethought the existing app's design, security, codebase, and UX design, and designed a comprehensive app experience with new services added. With the e-Boks app, all important information is easily digitized, enabling mail reception from both public institutions and private companies in a single digital mailbox. By sending personal information directly to one's digital space, they have also succeeded in minimizing the risk of data breaches. The service, which allows users to retrieve safely stored important mail documents at any time, has garnered high evaluations in customer satisfaction surveys.

Results

Easy access to important information boosted e-Boks's brand recognition, leading to its selection as the most trusted brand in Denmark for two consecutive years, surpassing numerous other companies. Approximately 5 million individual users and 600,000 businesses across the country utilize the service.

Although the project began as an overhaul of the existing app, it evolved into a solid foundation of mutual understanding between e-Boks and Nodes over the course of five-plus years. Support continues today, including ongoing work on the e-Boks plus app, an extension feature.
