One of the universal challenges in raising children is managing their diet. Mothers and fathers often experience anxiety regarding age-appropriate weaning foods, nutritional balance, and questions about their child's eating habits.
Asahi Group Foods believed that developing an app would be a way to directly provide value to consumers. By making WAKODO's extensive range of baby food and weaning recipes easily searchable and by offering online nutritional consultation services with WAKODO's experienced nutritionists, they aimed to provide support that truly resonated with WAKODO fans.
Therefore, they sought a partner company with extensive knowledge in resolving challenges in the digital domain and the ability to think from the same business perspective.
Monstarlab provided comprehensive support from the initial requirement gathering and UI design stages through app design, development, release, and ongoing operation.
During requirement gathering and UI design, market research indicated that WAKODO's strength lay in its extensive collection of baby food recipes, leading to the decision to center the app around these recipes. The project progressed with a clear persona of the app user in mind, focusing on providing value by addressing their specific challenges.
The actual development process involved creating prototypes and conducting concept tests to ensure the app would be user-friendly for the intended audience. Agile development was facilitated by offshore resources, with the development team in Vietnam working in close coordination to bring the app to fruition.
For ongoing operation, improvements were made to the information architecture and UI design to simplify updates and enhance the product's user experience.
Through this approach, Monstarlab successfully materialized Asahi Group Foods' long-held vision of \"reducing the burden of childcare.\"
